Buck and Tony - Legacy Awards - November 2000Buck and Tony at the 2000 Legacy 2000 Dinner

Tony Wrisinger has always loved baseball. From his first at bat as an 8 year old in Lexington, Missouri to this very day as a sports marketing executive with the Royals Radio Network, baseball has always been his passion.

"Baseball is a beautiful thing. There are few things in life today that brings people together like baseball. Kids today talk about A-Rod and Ken Griffey Jr., while the parents will talk about George Brett and Nolan Ryan. Add the grandparents to the mix who talk about Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays, as well as the stories their parents and grandparents told them about the Gashouse Gang and '27 Yankees. Baseball brings smiles and fond memories to people like nothing else."

Tony founded the State Farm Legends Luncheons Series that benefit the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. These luncheons feature Buck O'Neil, as well as players, coaches and umpires from Major League Baseball and Negro League Baseball. Guests from the 2000 luncheons included: Bob Feller, Billy Williams, Don Baylor, Frank White, Henry "The Pistol" Mason, Willie Randolph, Chris Chambliss, Diego Segui, and Steve Palermo.

"The State Farm Legend Luncheon Series is my most prized professional endeavor. It allows baseball fans the opportunity to interact with ball players in a very relaxed and casual atmosphere. To see the smiles and joy in the eyes of the parents and kids that attend them, as well as hear the
appreciation from the big leaguers who graciously attend, is tremendous."

Tony is the proud father of son, Andy and daughter, Olivia. They love to play and talk about baseball. "The nicknames, the history, the characters, the stories.... there is nothing like baseball."
